If the Black Keys video didn’t make your friday weird, this Flaming Lips video will!
For one, people are still paying Pitbull to create rap bars where every other word is “dale”, and I honestly didn’t know that we were still in the business of paying talentless people past their prime to keep on bein’ virtually awful. And for two—speaking of people who should really go away—Jennifer Lopez simply will not, and she doesn’t seem to give a buttcheek if you don’t like her new boyfriend. In fact, the guy with the crazy arm tattoo who she gets freaky with? Right- that’s him. His name is Casper Smart if you needed to know, but honestly, why in the hell are you still reading my words?

It feels like a long time since we’ve heard new music from Scottish twee kings Belle and Sebastian— while you’re busy waiting for their proper follow-up to 2010’s keyboard-heavy Belle and Sebastian Write About Love (my review) you’ll want to check out their second Late Night Tales compilation, in stores and online tomorrow. Spotlighting music from artists like Toro Y Moi, The Lovin’ Spoonful, The Pop Group, Joe Pass and more, the compilation also features an exclusive new cover of “Crash” by the Primitives, performed by Stuart Murdoch & Co. themselves.

The adage goes that if you don’t have anything nice to say, don’t say anything at all—but because I’m such a not-so-secret (anymore) fan of the song, I’m going to break my “I don’t write about Lana Del Rey anymore” rule to let you all know that the “Blue Jeans” video just sauntered its way online this morning. Directed by Yoann Lemoine, the black and white clip features Del Rey and “Born To Die” actor Bradley Soileau (i.e. the tattooed white trash faux-creep who keeps finding his way into everything LDR does) hanging out by a swimming pool and doing all sorts of purportedly visually stimulating things that all fake music video couples insist upon doing. You know the drill.

Go watch the misadventures of a plush lion

In case you weren’t cool enough to catch it on the first round, depression-wave Bon Iver stole the Best New Artist gramaphone at the Grammy’s shortly ago after a long due notoriety, and with their self-titled “genius” (yes, uncultured folk, it’s genius, not art) Bon Iver pulsing along changing not only music, but life itself, the near-suicidal sounding band put together a set of visuals for their track “Towers” which you have the priveledge of viewing below.
